Following hot on the success and critical-acclaim for her album Midnite Cinema from last year, soulful saxophonist Ayumi Ishito returns in 2020 with a stunning brand-new single called “Ocean Park Cafe.”
Designed in our shared-but-isolated quarantine times amidst the thick of the worldwide pandemic, Ayumi & her talented band-mates recorded their parts for “Ocean Park Cafe” from the safety of their own homes in hopes of creating a composition that brings paradise to the people at a time where they need it most. Drawing on the inspiration of Ayumi’s travels to “Ocean Park Cafe,” nestled right on the azure blue waters of Puerto Rico, her new single echoes the colorful nature of the island through the use of ambient sounds alongside the signature style of her intricate & innovative twists on Progressive Jazz.
